Green Chromium Oxide for Industrial Applications

Green chromium oxide (Cr₂O₃) for industrial applications, with reliable supply in 25 kg bags and big bags.

Description
At PILATO, we market green chromium oxide (Cr₂O₃) for the industrial market in Spain. Through a company-wide, integrated quality management system, we ensure immediate product availability and an operational approach focused on meeting our customers’ delivery schedules and technical requirements, while integrating seamlessly into their supply chains.

Green chromium oxide is regularly used in ceramic pigments, in formulations for refractory materials and in paints and coatings, where it acts as a highly stable pigment. Its value lies in retaining its colour at temperatures at which most pigments degrade and in resisting exposure to weathering and chemical agents, which is why it is used in high-firing glazes, furnace linings and long-life exterior paints.

We supply green chromium oxide in 25 kg bags and big bags, supported by agile logistics to facilitate its integration into processes already validated by our customers.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Green Chromium Oxide

Why is chromium oxide green so stable?

Because chromium(III) oxide is a highly refractory and inert compound. It does not decompose or shift in tone at ceramic firing temperatures, and it resists light, weathering and chemical agents. That stability is what makes it suitable for high-temperature glazes and exterior paints.

Yes. Besides its role as a pigment, chromium oxide is added to refractory compositions for its high melting point and its resistance to slag attack, in linings subject to severe temperature and corrosion conditions.

Chromium oxide green is a defined compound, Cr₂O₃, with its own CAS number. Under similar trade names, pigment blends of a different composition are sometimes sold. It is advisable to compare by CAS number rather than by trade name.
