Whitener

Whitener for Industrial Applications

Whitener for industrial applications, intended for use in ceramic engobes, glazes and bodies.

Description
At PILATO, we market whitener for the industrial market. Through a company-wide, integrated quality management system, we ensure immediate product availability and an operational approach focused on meeting our customers’ delivery schedules and technical requirements, while integrating seamlessly into their supply chains.

Whitener is obtained from a homogeneous blend of raw materials. Its different formulations make it versatile, and it is used in engobes, glazes and ceramic bodies where the aim is to raise the degree of whiteness of the body or the coating. By starting from a light, uniform base, it makes it possible to reduce the colourant load needed to reach a given shade and improves colour reproducibility between batches.

We supply the product in big bags, supported by agile logistics to facilitate its integration into processes already validated by our customers.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Whitener

What exactly is a whitener?

It is a preparation, not a single mineral: it is obtained by a homogeneous blend of several raw materials selected to provide whiteness. That is why it is not identified by a single CAS number, unlike those products in the range that are defined compounds.

It is used in engobes, glazes and bodies, depending on the objective. In the engobe it prepares a light base over the support; in the glaze it acts on the whiteness of the visible coating; in the body it raises the tone of the ceramic itself.

Yes. Whitener allows different formulations depending on the support, the firing cycle and the degree of whiteness sought. Tell us the conditions of your process and we will advise on the most suitable composition.
